OBITUARY: Used by permission of the South Bend Tribune. The following is copyright protected by the South Bend Tribune and reproduced here for information purposes only.

Jack Roger Prewitt, "Daddy Jack," left this world for a better one on November 24, 2004. He was born in Hobart, Indiana. Jack lived in the South Bend area for a number of years and was a resident of St. Petersburg, Florida. He was 60 years old. Jack lived life with nothing less than gusto. Everything that he did was carried out with much enthusiasm and a positive attitude. His family remembers that quality in him very fondly. Just before his illness and while fighting to regain his energy level, Jack still walked several miles each day, as he did much of his life. He loved all sports, but baseball was his favorite. He was proud to be a loyal fan and supporter of both his beloved Chicago Cubs and his only son, Troy, who is a talented baseball player. If Jack had been a gardener, his two daughters, Amy and Natalie, would have been his prize roses. In truth, Jack's family was and is his proudest accomplishment. Left behind also was Shelley, his wife of 24 years, and four wonderful grandsons, Tyler, Tyson, Austin and Logan. His grandchildren will miss the relationship of a most unforgettable and special grandpa. He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Mary and Bud Jenkinson; two sisters, Pat and Carol; and two brothers, Jim and Mike. Jack's father, Chester Prewitt, preceded him in death.
