May 8th, 1961-December 29th, 2021
Jeff Hicks passed away on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021. He was surrounded by his family as he went to be with our eternal Father.

He is survived by his love Loretta Dobbins, and his beloved daughters Lindsey (Jared) Kohn and Erin Hicks. Until they meet again, he will be missed by his grandchildren Henry and Hadley Kohn. He also leaves behind his sister Dawn, brother Sam, and mother Patti Hicks. He was also adored by Loretta’s family, especially her children Kali, Gage, and grandson Aiven. He is preceded in death by his father Jerry Hicks.

Jeff was born in Gary, IN graduating in 1980 from Hobart High School and attended Franklin College in Franklin, IN where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta. In 1983 he became a well-respected police officer with the Hobart, IN Police Department. He was very proud of his law enforcement career and his many contributions to the community, including leading the local DARE program. He retired in 2004 as a Detective Sargent. His love and support of law enforcement was strong throughout his life. Later he moved his family to Brownsburg, IN where he did information technology work for the State of Indiana. In 2013 he and Loretta moved out to Arizona, a state that Jeff had always loved and dreamed of moving to. He enjoyed the warm weather, his Chandler Ham Radio Club, and especially the open roads that they would cruise on his Harley.
