Robert Hepler - Class Of 1954

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, MAY 28, 2014:

Robert A. Hepler, 78, of Chesterton, and formerly a longtime Lake Station resident, died on Monday, May 26, 2014. Robert worked at U.S. Steel as a Superintendent in the Sheet and Tin Mill until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed taking fishing charters and family fishing vacations. Robert was a member of American Legion 260 Horseshoe League and will be remembered as a big Cubs fan. He will be deeply missed.

Robert is survived by his three sons: Jason of Lake Station, Michael (Kim) of Deltona, FL, and Robert Jr. of Michigan City; daughter, Sharon (James) Patton of Lake Station; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; special friend and mother of his children, Carolyn Hepler. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey; parents: Woodrow and Olive June Hepler; brother, David Hepler; and sister, Sharon Hepler.

A funeral service for Robert will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave., Lake Station. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, (219) 962-1606 or go online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com to extend condolences to the family.
