William E. "Bill" Neier

William E. "Bill" Neier, age 69, of Hobart, IN, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024.

Bill is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart of 50 years, Deborah Neier (nee Evans); daughter, Gretta (Carlos) Casanova; his adoring granddaughters: Rachelle E. Piunti & Ettaline Y. Casanova; son-in-law, James Piunti; brother, Fred (Paula) Neier; sisters: Margaret (Mike) Schammert & Dorna Lind; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Rachel Neier Piunti; and his parents: William E. and Anna M. Neier.

Bill graduated from Hobart High School, Class of 1973. He worked as an electrician at US Steel for 41 years. He loved celebrating life with family and friends; picnics, reunions, hog roasts or just a drive by to say hello. Bill was a lifelong fisherman and hunter, especially with his brother, family and dear friends.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 900 Luther Dr. Hobart, IN 46342 from 10:00 AM until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Nathan Kramer officiating.

Entombment to follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Bill's name to Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart, IN.
