OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, OCTOBER 3, 2013:

Nancy L. Zahrn, 58, of Hobart, passed away October 1, 2013. She was born on September 9, 1955 in Gary, to Eugene and Helen Parent. Nancy loved going to basketball games and worked as a dispatcher for Burnham Trucking Company in East Chicago.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; a sister- Jacqueline Parent and numerous four legged friends. Survivors include four sons: James (fiance Emily Nolan), John, David (Lauren), and Josh Zahrn; siblings: Eugene (Pat) Parent, Cydney (Ron) Knight, and Phyllis (Jose) Corral; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and dogs: Ebeneezer and Kodi.

Visitation will be held on Friday October 4, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 East 7th Street. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. www.burnsfuneral.com
