Jim Cawley - Class Of 1974

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JULY 26, 2003:

JAMES E. "JIM" CAWLEY Age 47, of Hobart passed away Wednesday July 2, 2003. He was a longtime Hobart resident, a and a member of the Hobart Moose. He attended Hobart High School. He did a 2 year apprenticeship at the Conrad Hilton Hotel. He also was the former Head Cook at the Cressmoor Country Club. He was also the former Head Chef and assistant manager at Lakes of the Four Seasons Country Club where he served for 18 years. Jim was currently employed as a Supervisor of the Kitchen at Westville Correctional facility. Jim was a very caring and giving person.

He is survived by 3 brothers George (Ronda) Cawley of Dorr, MI, Thomas Cawley of Valparaiso, Richard Cawley of Hobart, 2 sisters, Kathy (Arley) Tapp of Wheatfield, Judy (Barry) Martin of Hobart, close friends Marge Bousier, Chuck Marks, Hilda Getrich, Marlyn Marks, his dog, Daisy, and he was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Edith Shaw, his parents William B. and Mary Alice Cawley Sr., and 1 brother William B. Cawley Jr.

In lieu of flowers memorial are preferred to the Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue donation Network, 660 N. Industrial Drive, Elmhurst, IL, 60125. Funeral services are Tuesday July 8, 2003 at 10 a.am. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Rev. Gerald T. Walworth officiating. Cremation will follow at Calvary Crematory. Visitation is Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
