Mark Joseph Ring, age 68, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024. He was born March 26, 1956 in Gary, Indiana to the late David and Mary Lou Ring. Mark graduated from Hobart High School, Class of '74 and attended the Gary Career Center and earned his machinist certification. He would marry his high school sweetheart, Karen Ardell, on November 22, 1975. From this union, two children were born, Katherine and Joseph Ring.
Mark would spend the entirety of his thirty-five year career in the petroleum industry, working for Whiting Refinery in Whiting, Indiana; initially as a machinist and would conclude as a materials coordinator.
He enjoyed creating memories, whether ice skating and swimming with the kids or traveling with Karen and the D2 Goldwing Club on their bright yellow motorcycle. Mark was intentional, whether volunteering with the adult education Auto Mechanics Program through the local school or helping the neighbors maintain their properties. He was meticulous about his lawn and took pride in his home and neigborhood, but cherished time spent with his family the most.
Mark is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Karen; children, Katherine Ring and Joseph (Elisabeth) Ring; grandchildren, Ethan Ring, Collin Ring, Cheyenne Cureton, Lillian Ring and Lucas Ring; siblings, Steven Ring, Paul (Mary) Ring, Joan (Dennis) Dumas, John Ring, and Richard Ring; and several nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his brother, William Ring.
Celebration of Life is noon, Saturday, April 27, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior.
