Sherry is survived by her parents, Dave & Dottie Leonard of Hobart, daughter Jamie (and Doug) Arambula of Crown Point, daughter Carrie (and Steve) Brosius of Crown Point, and 6 grandchildren.  Sherry is also survived by her siblings, Karen (and Jeff) Hanson, of Phoenix, Arizona, David S. Sherry worked for 40 years in the field of medical technology and health administration.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Indiana University, Bloomington, and a Master’s in Public Health Administration from Indiana University Northwest.

Most recently Sherry was the Director of Laboratory Services for Methodist Hospitals in Gary and Merrillville.  Previous employers over her career included Alverno and La Rabida hospitals in Chicago, and the Central Indiana Regional Blood Center in Indianapolis.  Sherry was a hard-working professional who was known in the industry for her attention to detail, particularly with regard to lab inspections.  She will be remembered as a wonderful leader and mentor to the many employees who were fortunate to work with her over the years.

A graduate of Hobart High School, Sherry enjoyed staying in touch with friends and classmates.  She could often be found in her yard on the weekends, working around her pond and flower beds.

Sherry was a loving Grandma to her 6 precious grandchildren and spent many of her leisure hours attending their school and sports activities.  She also enjoyed doing crafts with them in her home and gathering there over the holidays with her family.
