OBITUARY INFORMATION FROM KELLY'S SISTER, TRACY:
My sister, Kelly Estabrook Collins, passed away on April 5, 2005, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, while on a mini vacation. She suffered a heart attack at just 43 years of age. She was a negative retoucher, and was working at Corey Brothers Bakery at the time of her death. She had lost her husband, Larry, to cancer just a year before in February. She and Larry had three children. Tiffany, who graduated from HHS in 2002, and Brown University in 2004. She currently works as a veterinary assistant at HObart Animal Clinic. Shannon, who graduated from HHS in 2004, and from the College of Court Reporting in 2006. She is a CART reporter who helps hearing impaired students earn their college degrees. Justin, who graduated from HHS in 2005 and works as a union carpenter.
If you asked Kelly what she wanted to be when she grew up, she would always say " a mom." I am happy that she got to be that. She poured herself into being a good mom and was proud of her children. She would have very much enjoyed her grandson Ty! I never dreamed when we said good-bye, and she asked me to check in on the "kids" that day, that it would be our last conversation. I miss her and her death has taught me to make the most of every day!
The picture was originally published in the 1979 HHS Memories yearbook.
