Hobart man dies as second car hits him broadside. A Hobart man died in a two car accident in front of the Crossroads Truck Center on Indiana 51 near Intersection 94 early Saturday morning. Leonard H. Wieczorek, 35, of 1317 S Lake Park Ave was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by deputy coroner Ron Borden, according to police here. Police said Wieczorek was leaving the truck plaza about 1 a.m., and disregarded the stop light when he pulled into the intersection. He was struck broadside by Steven M. Galiko, 26, 808 Woodard St, LaPorte, who was northbound on Indiana 51, Galiko was treated for lacerations of the head at Hobart St Mary Medical Center and released. Police have cited him for driving while his license was suspended.

obit..Age 35, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 1979. A Hobart resident all his life. Survivers; parents, Mr & Mrs Alex Wieczorek of Hobart; 1 brother, Richard (Mary) of Shererville; 1 sister, Mrs James (Patricia) Murray of Hobart; grandparent, Mrs. Eva Wiecorek of Hobart. Member of Assumption B.V.M. Church, United Transportation Union, Local 1534, a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Rosary will be said Wednesday at 8 p.m. Funeral services Thursday Jan 11, 1979 at 9:30 a.m. from the Rees Funeral Home to Assumption Church at 10 a.m. Rev. John Murzyn officiating. interment Calvery Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-9 p.m. at the Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
