Sandra Kay Potts (Fisher) - Class Of 1956

Sandra Kay Fisher, age 86, of Porter, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024, in Valparaiso, Indiana. She was born on August 24, 1938, in Gary, Indiana, to Gilbert and Robertine (Murray) Potts.

Sandra is survived by her three daughters, Renee (David) Fronczak of Porter, Lynette (Eric) Dean of Portage, Indiana, Dawn (Troy) Swaney of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; five grandsons, Jonathan (Amanda) Fronczak, Michael Fronczak, Kyle (Danielle) Dean, Austin Dean, Brenden Wood; four great-granddaughters, Kyleigh Fronczak, Wavelyn Fronczak, Ariah Dean, Isla Dean; sister, Linda (Charles) Stowers; and two sisters-in-law, Denise Potts and Zenada Morrow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Fisher; brother, Wayne Potts; and her sister, Myrna Burkholder.

Sandra graduated from Hobart High School. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Indiana University Northwest. Sandra worked as a psych and substance abuse nurse for many years. Following her retirement, her favorite thing to do was traveling. Sandra spent quite a bit of time outside of Indiana following retirement. She would spend her winters in Texas, and the spring and summers were spent in Canada. In addition to her traveling, she had a passion for art, astrology, collecting jewelry, and music. Sandra loved her pets, especially her dog, Sparky.
