OBITUARY INFORMATION FROM HUBBELL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY (BELLAIR BLUFFS, FL) WEBSITE:

Ruzicka, Bonnie Mae, 84 of Indian Rocks Beach passed away July 7, 2022. Bonnie was born June 28, 1938 in Hobart, Indiana to Elmer and Anna (Owens) Scharbach. She was a 1956 graduate of Hobart High School and received an Associate Degree from Stephens College (MO) in 1958. Later moving to Florida, she married Richard (Dick) Robert Ruzicka Jr. on February 14, 1970 and they enjoyed traveling and family trips to Disney World. They were dedicated parents and created a warm and welcoming home in Indian Rocks Beach. Any visitor to the Ruzicka home would be welcomed by Bonnie’s radiant smile, lots of great food and laughter, and elaborate decorations to celebrate every holiday. Bonnie especially loved celebrating Halloween and Christmas, filling the house and yard with many pumpkins or snowmen. She had a contagious energy for life and an adventurous spirit that took her on safari in Africa and then skydiving in New Zealand at the age of 64. Bonnie also enjoyed being a grandmother, adopting and caring for many pets and animals, and gardening and had a long career as a cytotechnologist, retiring from the Bay Pines VA Hospital in 2018.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Dick; her sister Sandra Funston; and brother-in-law Edward Funston and she will be dearly missed by her sons Scott (Christine) Burns and Rob (Andrea) Ruzicka; grandchildren Rosalie and Travis and many other friends and family.
