OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, FEBRUARY 7, 2004:
JON F. HOLESTAK Age 59 years, of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2004. He was a longtime Valparaiso resident, formerly of Hobart. He was a member of the Hobart High School graduating Class of 1962, and a member of Nativity of Our Savior Church. Jon was an Ironworker working for Local #395 and was also a volunteer at Porter Starke.
He is survived by his wife, Veronica Holestak of Valparaiso; 1 son, Eric Holestak of Valparaiso; 5 daughters, Robin (Wayne) Stivaletta of Kimberly, WI, Lana Mooer of Wheeler, IN, Louonna M. (Douglas) Kachur of Zionsville, IN, Tammie (Andy) Brown of Lake Station, Brandy (Ryan) Gadkowski of Portage; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eleanore Holestak and one son, Derek John Holestak.
Funeral services are Monday, February 9, 2004, 10 a.m. Directly at Nativity of Our Savior, 2949 Willowcreek Rd., Portage. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation is Sunday from 2-8 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 6:30 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage.
