OBITUARY FROM THE NW INDIANA TIMES, JUNE 4, 2011:

Jerald E. Johnson, age 68 of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Hobart American Legion Post 54. He was a sports enthusiast, an avid Brickie Fan and a loving and supportive father, grandfather, brother and son.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Martha Johnson. Jerald is survived by two daughters: Leigh Ann (Chris) Grooms and Lynn (Rob) Taylor; son, Jerry Johnson; two sisters: Connie (Bob) Eastwood and Sandy (Ken) Schumann; six grandchildren: Emma, Ethan, Elliott, Evan, Dylan and Oliver.

A memorial service will be Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart, IN. Rev. John Starr officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. www.burnsfuneralhome.com
