Dan Schroeder - Class Of 1960

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, MAY 3, 2007:
 
DAN SCHROEDER Crown Point, Indiana Age 65, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, in Crown Point, IN. He was born on March 20, 1942. He grew up in Hobart and was an All-State high school football player for the "Brickies". Dan graduated from Indiana State University and taught Industrial Arts and coached football at Griffith and Crown Point High Schools. He was able to enjoy retirement by taking care of his lawn, golfing, bonding with his dog "Maggie" and traveling with his wife. He was an avid NASCAR (#24) and Cubs fan. Dan was a member of St. Matthias Church, the Gary Sportsman's Club and several golf leagues. In his retirement, he was employed by the Boone Grove School Corporation, Maintenance Dept. He was hard working, honest and had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be forever loved, always remembered and never forgotten.
 
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Anita Schroeder, brother, Ted Schroeder, mother and father-in-law, Albert and Martha Hennessy. Survivors: wife of 36 years, Bridget (nee Hennessy) Schroeder; son and daughter, Thomas (Laura) Schroeder of Indianapolis, IN and Jennifer (Mark) Macek of Munster, IN; grandchildren, Lynnly Schroeder and Audrey Macek; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services begin Saturday, May 5, 2007, 9:15 a.m. at the Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, to St. Matthias Catholic Church, 101 W. Burrell Drive, Crown Point, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Mark Pavlina & Rev. Terrence Steffens con-celebrating. Services will terminate at the church. Friends may visit with the family at the Burns Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Please call (219) 769-0044.
