OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE WEBSITE, JANUARY 10, 2006:
LARRY K. TAYLOR Portage, Indiana Age 71, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2006. Larry was born and raised in Hobart, joined the U.S. Air Force serving from 1952 to 1973. He was involved with the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Larry returned to Portage in 1973 and worked at Bethlehem Steel for 23 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows.
Survivors: loving wife of 51 years: Charlene; 3 sons: Kenneth (fiancee' Cassandra Aimutis) Taylor of Portage, Gregory (Marla) Taylor, Valparaiso, Mark (Robin) Taylor of Portage; 5 grandchildren: Michele, Krista, Jacob, Zachary & Cameron; and 4 great grandchildren: Domanic, Daelon, Madelyn & Makaela; 1 sister: Viola (Bob) Turner of Bruce Lake, IN; 1 sister-in-law: Martha Taylor of Hobart. Preceded in death by parents, John and Elmaida; 2 brothers, Jack and William, and sister, Clare.
Funeral services Thursday, January 12, 2006, at 9:15 a.m. from Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue to Our Lady of Sorrows for a celebration of Mass of Christian Burial, Rev. Douglas J. Mayer officiating. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Wake service Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. Visitation Wednesday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
