Loretta “Rhett” June Hamilton, 80, of Brook, Indiana, formerly of Lake Village, passed away at 8:58 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2021 at George Ade Memorial Health Care of Brook.

She was born June 28, 1940 in Hobart, IN to the late Merle Donald and Goldie Elizabeth (Martin) Bellinger and was a 1958 graduate of Hobart High School. Her marriage was to Charles Edward Hamilton on October 25, 1958 in Hobart; he preceded her in death on July 23, 2011. Mrs. Hamilton lived in Lake Village for 40 years. She was a long term member of the DeMotte Pentecostal Church.  In the 1980’s she was a youth leader for the Roselawn United Methodist Church.

Rhett was a homemaker. She was Telephone Operator from 1958 until 1959Rhett loved to walk and take care of her cats and dogs.  More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.  She also enjoyed BINGO, puzzles, crossword puzzles and looked forward to attending church.

Surviving are her two sons, Randall Scott Hamilton of Brook and Greggory Martin Hamilton of Kentland; two brothers, Bill Bellinger (wife: Barbara) of Illinois and Edward Bellinger of Hammond, IN and two grandchildren, David Martin and Abby Summer. Preceding her in death with her parents and husband are two sons, Charles Donald (2007) and Russell Edward (2001); a brother, Charles; and 5 sisters, Eileen, Betty, Sharon, Eva and Carol.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. (CST) Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Kentland; Rev. Dennis Ramsey to officiate.  Interment to follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
