OBITUARY FROM REES FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE:

Linda L. Hartford (nee Dufresne), age 82, of Hobart, IN passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023.

Linda was born on November 26, 1940 in Gary, IN to the late Melvin Dufresne and Lillian (nee Wilson) Haney.  She was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1958 and worked at the Indiana Botanical Gardens in scheduling and production. Linda married Rolland “Buzz” Hartford on May 28, 1960 in Gary, IN and spent 50 years together until his passing in March of 2011.  She was a member of Inland Baptist Church.  Linda was a very skilled and avid crocheter and could whip up anything including afghans and doilies.  

Linda is survived by her children: Rachelle (Barry Cook) West, and Melinda Hartford; grandchildren: Jennifer and Jason; great-grandson: Elijah; siblings: Mickey Dufresne and Pam Wilson; and dear friends: Delphine Ketchum and Kathy Mitchell.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Buzz, and her parents, Melvin and Lillian.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel (5341 Central Ave., Portage) on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.  A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Ryon Adcock officiating.  At rest, Calvary Cemetery.
