OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JUNE 29, 2010:

Ralph L. Edwards, age 71 of Lake Station passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010. He was born on June 5, 1939 in Gary, Indiana to the late Ralph H. and Dantzel Edwards. He was a Hobart High School graduate and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army. Ralph was a longtime Lake Station resident and a member of the Southlake First Church of the Nazarene. He retired from Bethlehem Steel. Ralph enjoyed a wide variety of things and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 48 years, Nancy Edwards (nee Brown) of Lake Station, IN; 2 sons, L. Wayne Edwards of Albany, NY; Martin D. Edwards of Lake Station, IN; 2 daughters, Michelle L. Young of Portage, IN; Connie J. Edwards of NH; 4 grandchildren, Melissa Edwards, Jamie, Donald, and Alexandrea Young, and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel A. Edwards.

Funeral services are Friday, July 2, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Rev. Duane Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Hobart. Visitation is Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel. Call (219) 942-2109 for more information.
