Harry Dockter - Class Of 1950

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JANUARY 12, 2005

Harry C. Dockter "Doc" Hobart Harry C. Dockter "Doc", age 72 of Hobart, passed away peacefully at home Monday, January 10, 2005. Harry was a life-long Hobart resident and graduate of Hobart High School Class of 1950. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Harry retired in 1992 from U.S. Steel with 42 years of service.

Survived by eight children: Charlie (Kyra) Dockter of Hobart, Heather (J.T.) Wells of Valparaiso, Holly (Andy) Gunning of Chapel Hill, NC, Bob (fiance Vanessa Cooper) Burns of Hobart, Mark (Ruth Ann Krause) Burns of Hobart, Kim (Randy) Olson of Hobart, Bill (Melinda) Mueller of Atlanta, GA and Heidi (Bill) Kirkman of Aurora, IL; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Madge (Richard T.) Smith of Hobart; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Madge Dockter; wife, Elsie (nee Spangler); two sisters, Almira Dockter and Joan Randolph.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Porter County. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. from Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Rev. William Mueller officiating. Cremation Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel
