OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JUNE 30, 2005

Carol L. Becker, age 48, of Hobart, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2005. Carol had been a life long Hobart resident. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a life time member of the Northwest Indiana Retirees. She enjoyed being a member of LCAR Bowling Team, bowling at Cressmore Lanes in Hobart. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed Opera and Symphony. Carol was loved for her kind, caring, loving nature, always with a ready smile and outgoing personality. She was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1975.

Carol is survived by her mother, Leona M. Becker of Hobart; sister, Carla and loving brother-in-law, Joseph Wade; two nieces: Kirsten and Kelly Wade, all of Salem, OR; two aunts: Adele Phy of Chesterton and Ellen Freville of Hobart and several cousins; best friend, Diane Mills of Portage. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl R. Becker. Northwest Indiana Retirees will conduct a service on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made for family wishes to be used for the Hobart High School, Class of 1975 Reunion Fund. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, with Rev. Gary S. Nagy, officiating. Burial Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
