Richard Hallet, age 42 of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Monday May 10, 1999 at St. Anthony Hospital, Michigan City, Indiana. He was a lifelong area resident and an iron worker employed at Local #395 in Hammond. He was a member of the Flemish Giant Rabbit Club and the American Rabbit Breeders Association.

He was born in Gary, Indiana on January 11, 1957 to Richard L. and Martha “Marty” R. (Bodie) Hallett, who survive of Westminster, California. On January 11, 1979, in Merrillville, he married Betty (Stutzman), who survives of Michigan City; Also surviving are 2 sons, Richard J. Hallett and Randall L. Hallett both of Michigan City; 1 brother, Steven Hallett of Westminster, California; 2 sisters, Lori Hallett of Hobart and Jamie (Andrew) Heazeltine of West Lafayette, Indiana; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 13, 1999 at 10 a.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Father John Zemelko officiating. Interment in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. The visitation will be held on Wednesday May 12, 1999 from 4-8 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
