CHRIS G. SCALCHAS, age 61, of Lake Station, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019.  He was born in Gary to the late Chris and Marcine Scalchas.  Chris worked for many years in maintenance at Heartland., now known as Tri City.  He enjoyed gardening in his free time.  Chris will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and friend.

He is survived by son, Christopher A. Scalchas; grandson, Christopher E. Scalchas; sister Denise Reierson; best friend, Greg Morris; other loving family and friends.

Chris was also preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Timmy and Tommy Ellis.

Cremation arrangements handled by Rees Funeral Homes.
