Age 90 passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso surrounded by her loving family.She was born the daughter of the late Joe and Bertha (nee Miller) Prosser in Hobart, Indiana. Lola was a 1953 Hobart High School graduate and was a devoted member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She worked for many years at Hobart Furniture and enjoyed volunteering at Maria Reiner Center, playing Bunco and cards with her friends. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Lola is survived by her son, Richard D. (Linda) Schwuchow; two daughters, Pamela (Lloyd) Trumbo and Elsie (Alex) Koleff; seven grandchildren, Anthony (Jennifer) Schwuchow, Wendy (Joel) Smith, Jennifer (Josh) Strasburg, Katrina (Robert) Lucas, Lloyd Daniel (Lauren) Trumbo, Crystal (Gene) Bilderback and Caprice (Jeffrey) Rodgers; 16 great grandchildren, Olivia and Ava Schwuchow, Jake and Luke Smith, Joshua, Xander and Blake Strasburg, Layla, Brayden and Gracelyn Lucas, Madison and Kendall Trumbo, Vivian and Charlotte Bilderback, and Alex and Darcy Rodgers; sister Julie Bannon; numerous nieces and nephews and many other loving family members and friends.
Lola was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald Schwuchow in September of 1996; second husband, Ralph Wells in August of 2007; longtime companion, Dale Ewigleben; her parents; four brothers, Lloyd, Laurel, Albert and Carrol Prosser and three sisters, Deloris Schwuchow, Darlene Wells and Glena Ensign.
A funeral service for Lola will be held Monday, August 11, 2025, at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Hobart. A visitation for Lola will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm also at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
