Carrol G. "Spike" Kelley, age 72, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the VNA Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso, IN.

He was born on December 1, 1935 in Cobden, IL to Edward and Genevieve (Sweitzer) Kelley.
Carrol worked as a carpenter with the Local 1005 Indiana Carpenters Union, where he was a member for 50 years.

He was also a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wanatah, IN.

On August 29, 1954 in Lake Station, IN, Carrol married Patricia Doolin who survives; along with three sons: Daniel (Susan) Kelley of Chesterton, IN, David (Karen) Kelley of Westville, IN and William (Kim) Kelley of Hobart, IN; one sister, Kaylin (Tim) Kostelnik of Valparaiso, IN; three grandchildren: Shane Kelley, Bryan Kelley and Amy (Robert) Kelley; and one great- grandson, Caleb Kelley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Dana Marie Kelley; and two brothers: Wallace and Ronald Kelley.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 204 Ohio Street, Wanatah, IN with Fr. Jerry Schweitzer officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, IN.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice, 501 Marquette Street, Valparaiso, IN 46383.
