OBITUARY FROM THE POST TRIBUNE, MARCH 17, 2005
LISA R. KEMP Age 35, of Hobart, IN, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Lisa was born in Gary, IN on November 20, 1969 to Gene and Pat Kemp. Lisa was a lifelong Hobart resident and was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1988. She was a member of the Harvest Independent Baptist Church of Lake Station. She participated in the Cancer Research walk, "Footin for a Cure" for several years. Lisa is preceded in death by her grandparents, Harmon A. and Maurine Kemp and Herman E. Ramsey.
Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Ruben Lopez; her parents, Gene & Pat Kemp; brother, Greg Kemp; sister, Jill (Dan) Zanolla; special twin nephews, Jacob and Dylan, all of Hobart, IN; grandmother, Maggie Ramsey of Richmond, Virginia; uncle, Mel Ramsey of Richmond, Virginia; aunts, Toni Ramsey of Dublin, Virginia; Patricia (Joe) Waddell of Portage, Indiana and Charlotte (Fred) Troy of Phoenix, Arizona; many cousins. A special word of thanks to all her special friends at Sam's Club, her Church Family, all her Doctors and Nurses, neighbors and other friends. "What Cancer Cannot Do" Cancer is so limited... It cannot cripple love, It cannot shatter hope, It cannot corrode faith, It cannot destroy peace, It cannot kill friendship, It cannot suppress memories, It cannot silence courage, It cannot invade the soul, It cannot steal eternal life, It cannot conquer the Spirit.
Creators Syndicate Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2005, 1:00 p.m. at the Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN with Dr. Bob Lamb, officiating.
