OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, NOVEMBER 2, 2004

Bonita B. "Bonnie" Thoreson, age 79, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2004 at the Wittenberg Lutheran Village in Crown Point. Bonnie was a Northwest Indiana resident for 75 years and a graduate of Hobart High School, class of 1943. She graduated from Purdue University Calumet for nursing in 1972 and was employed as a nurse at the Wittenberg Lutheran Village in Crown Point until she retired in 1989.

She is survived by three sons, Layne (Carole) Thoreson of Valparaiso, Jim Thoreson of New Chicago and Jack Thoreson of Hammond; six grandchildren: Eric (Charlene) Thoreson of Oswego, IL, Tina Thibideaux of Texas, Brad (Cathy) Thoreson of Wheatfield, IN, Michael (Evelyn) Thoreson of Hobart, Shawn (Ben) Brantmeier of Jefferson, WI, Scott Thoreson of Appleton, WI; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; sister, Maxine Hilt of Pueblo, Colorado and brother, Chuck Libkie of Arizona; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbnd Harry E. Thoreson, sister, Frieda Garcia and brother Fredrick Libkie, Jr.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 4, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, with Rev. Charles R. Strietelmeier officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. Visitation is on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
