OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, NOVEMBER 16, 2010

Helen Lute, age 90, of Hobart, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 at Golden Living, Fountainview Place in Portage. Helen was a lifelong Hobart resident and active member of First United Methodist Church in Hobart. She graduated from Hobart High School in 1938 and enjoyed genealogy. She was a member of the Lake George Homemakers Extension Club.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Linda (David) Shedrow of Hobart; grandson, Richard (Stephanie) Shedrow of Las Vegas, NV; and brother, Charles Henderson of Portage. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Lute; son, Robert Alan; and two sisters: Marguerite Glissman and Lillian Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Porter County VNA Hospice would be appreciated. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, with her nephew Rev. William Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
