Lois Baker (Wilson) - Class Of 1938

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, APRIL 5, 2010

Lois I. Wilson, age 90 of Hobart passed away, Thursday, April 1, 2010. Lois was born January 24, 1920 in Deep River, Indiana to William and Sadie Baker. Lois had been a life long Hobart area resident and was a graduate of Hobart High School Class of 1938. She was a loving wife and homemaker and was the co-owner/operator with her husband Lloyd of Bowman's landing from 1962 to 1975. Lois had been a member of the Hobart Eastern Star Chapter #314 for over 50 years. She has also been a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Hobart. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all.

Lois is survived by her loving children, Kenneth (Amelia) Wilson of LaPorte, Lynne Hippie of Valparaiso and Laura (Dale) Hensley of Crown Point; one brother, Everett Baker of Oklahoma; sisters-in-law, Edith Whisler, of Merrillville and Helen Wilson, of Lakeland, FL; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her son, Billy; husband, Lloyd; sister, Wilma Johnson; parents, William and Sadie Baker; son-in-law, Evan Hippie; and daughter-in-law, Jean Wilson.

Funeral Services Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Chaplain Frank Klobucar and Mr. Art Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow at Hobart Cemetery. Order of Eastern Star service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 7, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3 – 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
