David Koziol - Class Of 1961

DAVID KOZIOL, Age 68, a resident of Sandia Park, NM passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012 after seeing his last East Mountain sunset earlier in the week. He especially loved reading, history, and the nature and beauty of the Sandia Mountains, as well as traveling to see friends and family.
 
He is survived by daughter, Louise Koziol of Phoenix; daughter, Julie Golden (Tom) of Albuquerque; brother, Larry Koziol (Patricia) of Illinois; brother, Lloyd Koziol (Juanita) of Maryland; stepmother, Sue Koziol of Florida; stepbrother, Bob Terry (Bernie) of Florida; stepbrother, Jerry Terry (Pat) of Tennessee; and dear friend, Carlie McKain of South Carolina. David was preceded in death by his parents, Marsha and Steven Koziol. He was born June 7, 1943 in Gary, IN and was a 1961 graduate of Hobart High School. In recent years he enjoyed gatherings and reunions of old friends and classmates. He was a U.S. Navy Corpsman assigned to the Marines and served in Vietnam. He received his Bachelor's degree at Indiana State University at Terre Haute and his Master's degree at Purdue University at Indianapolis. He was married in 1969 to Jana Dale Beemer of Gary to whom he was married for 16 years. In 1978, the family relocated from Indiana to New Mexico. He is a former Personnel Director at the New Mexico Hospital Association and later in life worked in the insurance industry.
 
A Committal Service will be held in April 2012 at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Albuquerque Library system in Dave's name at friendsforthelibrary.org.
