Jerry Walters - Class Of 1963

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, MAY 5, 2004:

JERRY L. WALTERS Age 59, of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2004. He was born June 11, 1944, in Gary, Indiana and had been a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Hobart High School, Class of 1963. He was employed at Western Cold Drawn Steel for 23 years until it closed and H.A. Industries for 10 years. He was an avid Nascar fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Charlene (Erwin); 1 daughter, DeAnn (Richard) Pruitt of Chesterton; mother, Nina (late Edward) Venkus of Largo, FL; father, Harold (Betty) Walters of DeMotte, IN. Preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Bannon. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Geraldine (late Terry) Ehrhardt, Pauline (Roger) Mergl and Eugene (Dona) Erwin; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services Friday, May 7, 2004, 10:30 a.m. at the Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Rev. Gerald T. Walworth, officiating. Interment Graceland Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, May 6, 2004 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Rees Funeral Home. 219- 942-2109.
