OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, MAY 17, 2014:

Nancy Teer Snider, age 47, of Hobart, passed away on May 15, 2014. She was a graduate of Hobart High School, class of 1985. She received her B.S. in Education from Purdue and her Master's Degree in Administration from IUN. She was employed as an elementary school teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal for the School City of Hammond for 24 years. Nancy also served as Title I Director and was a member of the Indiana Association of School Principals Executive Board from 2001-2006. Nancy was named Elementary Principal of the year for 2005 by the Indiana Association of School Principals. She was director of Indiana Association of School Principals in 2006. She was a member of Hobart High School Alumni Club, a member of Hobart High School Class of 1985 Reunion Committee and the Purdue Alumni Club. Nancy was also a school board member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a past president of the Hammond Kiwanis and a past Hobart Democratic Precinct Committee Person. Nancy loved spending time with family and friends. She spent much of her growing up years at Bass Lake and later in life at the family's summer lake house in Monticello. She enjoyed water sports and just had such a zest for life. She enjoyed watching her oldest grandson, Antonio, wrestle. She was also an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider. She took many motorcycle trips to the Smokies, Rockies, Key West and out west to Sturgis, South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. Nancy loved taking cruises and her Vegas trips with her mom were rated at the top of the list. Nancy also loved her dogs, Bear and Coco as if they were her children.

Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Jeff Teer. She is survived by her husband, C. Wayne Snider, Sr.; parents, Jack and Betty Teer of Hobart; brother, Mike (Pam) Teer of Hobart; daughters, Jen (Aaron) Noel of Valparaiso and Jamie Sullivan of Hobart; sons, Wayne "Buck" Snider of Chesterton and Shayne (Mandy) Snider of Valparaiso; grandchildren, Antonio and Alex Noel, Allie Snider, Jake, Olivia and Micah Snider; nephew, Matt Teer; niece, Stephanie Teer; Godchildren, Drew and Faith Hillan; Godson, Jacob Gurgevich; sisters-in-law, Pat Petrizzo of Chicago and Ann Mills of Hammond; nieces, Sue (Carl) Salvato , Dina (Tom) Crivellone of Chicago, Taylor Lee Rippe of Wheeler; great-nephews and great-niece, Salvatore, Dominic and Carla; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and other nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will take place on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 900 Luther Dr., Hobart, Rev. Gary Nagy officiating. Nancy will lie in state at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Hobart. Friends are invited to meet with Nancy's family on Sunday, May 18th from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart.
