OBITUARY FROM THE NW INDIANA TIMES, APRIL 28, 2008
Michelle Marie Malizzo Ballog, age 39, of Valparaiso, IN, formerly of Hobart, IN, has joined God and His angels in Heaven on Friday, April 25, 2008. Michelle was a Hobart High School graduate, class of 1986, and later earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso. She was presently working as a branch manager for Centier Bank in Portage. Michelle was also the CEO of Med Staff, Inc., a family owned business. She was a board member of the Portage Chamber of Commerce and ran their annual golf outings. Michelle was a full of life and loved everyone. She would go out of her way to help anyone under any circumstance.
Her number one concern was her beautiful family, starting with her husband Chris of ten years; and their two beautiful daughters: Brianna age 7 and Olivia age 1. Michelle also left behind her parents: Robert and Barbara Malizzo of Hobart; her sister Kristina (Ramiro) Chavez of Hobart and nephew Adrian age 1; her grandmother Opal Gentry of Portage; and father-in-law Jerry (Nancy) Ballog; special uncle, George T. Malizzo, Jr. of Portage; and several other loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding Michelle were her paternal grandparents: George and Olympia (Libby) Malizzo, Sr; grandfather, William Gentry; and mother-in-law, Jerry Green. Much could be said about Michelle's wonderful smile and bubbly personality. She will be remembered forever in our hearts.
Funeral services will begin at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart, IN at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2008 and proceed to St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 W. Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso, IN for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joseph M. Pawlowski officiating. Interment at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. Friends may visit with the family at Burns Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Wake service at 7:00 p.m. www.burnsfuneral.com
