Patrick L. Beattie, 87, of West Lafayette, formerly of Valparaiso, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Indiana Veterans Home.

Born on January 17, 1930 in Gary, IN, he was the son of the late Francis and Mattie Beattie. Patrick honorably served in the United States Marine Corp.

His marriage was to Esther I. Bencek on March 1, 1952 in Gary, IN. She survives.

Patrick worked in production planning with United States Steel Mill for 36 years. He enjoyed reading, fishing, and hunting.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death with his parents are his son, Michael Beattie; daughter, Irene Beattie; and brother, Robert Beattie.

NOTE: Birth name was Patrick Joseph Hall, son of Roy Johnson and Sarah Hall. Francis and Mattie Beattie are his adoptive parents.
