Keith Eastwood - Class Of 1976

OBITUARY INFORMATION FROM HAVERSTOCK FUNERAL HOME (LAPORTE, IN) WEBSITE:

Keith Allen Eastwood, born February 24, 1958, Gary, Indiana, to parents Howard T. Eastwood and Kay (nee Vaughn) Eastwood, passed away at the age of 67 on April 22, 2024.

He was a Hobart resident for most of his life. Keith attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Hobart High School in 1976. Keith spent most of his career in automotive collision repair and refinishing. He had an eye for detail and skill in precision paint work.

Prior to retirement, he tried his hand at truck driving. He loved to recount his cross-country journey, not just the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, but also the people he met along the way.

As a young man, Keith found purpose and meaning when he met the love of his life, Carol, along with her family: Teri, Brian, Brad; granddaughter, Jessica, and great-granddaughter, Kinsley.

For the next 22 years, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life cheering on his beloved Hobart Brickies, family and holiday gatherings, fishing and camping trips down south, dinners out, and small getaways. Keith also loved music. He played guitar and piano from a young teenager throughout his life. He was also a great cook.

Keith was a true artist at heart and had very artistic abilities including oil painting, ceramics and wood working. He meticulously crafted fish tanks and painted pumpkins he sold at a local farmers market or gave to children in the neighborhood. He shared a lifelong creative bond with his father who was also an accomplished oil painting artist.

One of Keith’s greatest joys was watching Jessica grow up and become a mother herself to Kinsley whom he also adored. He carried deep pride for this family boasting of their successes and how highly he thought of them.

Though life took them down separate paths many years ago they maintained a deep lifelong friendship that Keith cherished. They continued to support Keith through very difficult times that were filled with deep personal trials and tribulations. For their kindness and support, Keith's Eastwood family will be eternally grateful.

Keith fought a courageous, private battle against the disease of addiction. Though the path was incredibly difficult, his friends and family never stopped fighting for him and holding on to hope. Many times Keith fought and won this battle and lived a happy productive life, but addiction is a cruel disease that took him from us too soon. In the face of this overwhelming struggle the dedication and support never wavered from his family and friends. Serving as testament to the power of love. Keith had many wonderful qualities and we will miss him for the rest of our lives.

Keith was proceeded in death by his father, Howard Tilden Eastwood; brother, Howard Lawrence Eastwood; niece, Katie Ann Thyen; and nephew Mark David Eastwood.

Keith is survived by his mother, Kay Eastwood (nee Vaughn); sister, Linda Kuntz (Charles); sister, Stacey Thyen (Rick); and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Interment and private graveside memorial service at Pentwater Township Cemetary, Pentwater Michigan.

“Hoping you have found peace dear brother in heaven’s embrace.”
