Age 83, of Hobart passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at South Lake Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Gary, Indiana on April 5, 1940, to the late George and Lois (nee Jenkins) Froman. Vaughn retired from Nipsco, where he worked construction and was a former area farmer. On September 1, 1962, Vaughn married the love of his life Janet Stillabower, and they spent 61 loving years together. Vaughn was a lifelong Hobart resident, graduating from Hobart High School in 1959. He was also an avid Cubs fan. Vaughn will be remembered as a dedicated family man, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and loyal friend.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janet Froman; son Don (Becky) Froman; daughter, Kathy (Jeffrey) Gideon; 9 grandchildren, Alyssa (Tyler) Zilz, Meagan (Robbie) Rodriguez, Josh Froman, Dakota Vaughn Froman, Madison Froman, Dallas Froman, Erica Daniel, and Jessie Gideon; two great-grandsons, Noah Zilz and Wyatt Daniel; and brother, Carl Froman, and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
