Nedra Scubelek, age 81, of DeMotte, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

Nedra was born on April 25, 1941 in Gary, Indiana the daughter of Adam and Cecilia (Sol) Klaja. She graduated from Hobart High School, Class of 1959. Nedra married the love of her life, Louis V. Scubelek on June 29, 1963. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2017. Together they moved to DeMotte, Indiana in 1979 and have lived here ever since. Nedra worked as a secretary with State Farm Insurance Agency for 15 years. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and involved in local bowling leagues.

Nedra is survived by her loving children: Nicole Scubelek of DeMotte, IN and Scott (Gloria) Scubelek of DeMotte, IN; siblings: Janice (Ken) Gurband and Nancy (Rogers) Parsons.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Adam & Cecilia and husband, Louis.

Nedra’s wishes were to be cremated and placed by her husband. Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte has been entrusted with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made in Nedra’s name to Haven Hospice.
