Maurice "Dick" Stump - Class Of 1959

Maurice "Dick" Stump, 77, of Beaumont, died Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Dubuis Hospital, Beaumont. He was born on July 16, 1941, to Jean Smith Stump and Maurice Stump, in Waukegan, Illinois. Dick was a second-generation steel worker in Indiana. He called himself “the glove master” for his unique skill set and passion for baseball gloves and trivia. Dick was also an avid movie buff and softball player.

Survivors include his son, Maurice “Woody” Stump, Jr. and Dawn Lackey, both of Hobart, Indiana; son, Todd Stump and his wife, Natalie, of Beaumont; daughter, Kimberly Syren and her husband, Todd, of Chesterton, Indiana; sister, Cheryl Vanrosendel and her husband, Bruce Ruge, of Valparaiso, Indiana; brother, Robert “Bob” Stump and his wife, Margot, of Crown Point, Indiana; grandchildren, Ashley Davis; Corey Christy; Rachael Christy, Taylor Mayer and her husband, Billy; Riley Syren; Jackson Syren; and Anson Kaspar Stump; niece, Lindsay Forte and her husband, Jacob; and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Patricia Stump; sister, Sandy Stump; and brother, Tom Stump.

Mr. Stump’s cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
