Obituary for Patricia V. "Patti" "Patsy" Wengel

Patricia V. Wengel “Patti” “Patsy”, of Hobart, Indiana passed away on April 26, 2025, surrounded by family and friendly nursing staff whom took amazing care of her.

Patti was a graduate of Hobart High School with the class of 1959. She was a special needs school bus driver for over 20 years in Hobart, Portage, and Valparaiso school systems. She had a special place in her heart for the students on her bus. Patti took great pride in her Polish heritage and sharing it with others. Her passion was to bake and crotchet. When she was not crafting, she was watching the Price is Right or her Lifetime movies. She also enjoyed making tie blankets, looking up new recipes, crochet patterns, or something else crafty to make. Patti was a die-hard Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. Grandma, Gma, Gammy, loved her grand kids and was very proud of them all.

Patti is preceded in death by her parents; Edward and Charlotte Wengel, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.

She leaves behind daughter; Michelle (Richard) Iliff of Valparaiso, Indiana, son; Mark Montague of Chesterton, Indiana, son; Greg (Jody) Montague of Orlando, Florida. Grandchildren; Jordan McHargue of Hobart, Indiana, Mareena Austin of Portage, Indiana, Paiton and Abigail Iliff of Valparaiso, Indiana, Natalie, Zoe, Cody Montague of Orlando, Florida, 2 great-grandchildren, brothers; Paul and Danny Wengel of Hobart, Indiana.

Services will be held at Burns Funeral Home & Crematory 701 East 7th Street Hobart, Indiana 46342
Memorial visitation Thursday, May 1, 2025 4:00 - 6:00 PM with the memorial service starting at 6:00 PM.
