Pamela Jeanne Hutchins, 70, passed away on October 29, 2024.
Born in Gary, Indiana on February 14, 1954, Pamela was raised in Hobart, Indiana, the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara Jeanne Boynak.
Pam attended Hobart High School and graduated in 1972. She worked in multiple capacities including a lifeguard at the Hobart Pool, a NIPSCO employee, a legal secretary at the Porter County Prosecutor's Office, helped work with her mother's catering business, and was a wonderful homemaker and loving mother to her children.
Pam was a loving wife and devoted mother to Andrea and Rebecca, her pride and joy. She always said their birth changed her life for the better, and they felt that in the love and support through the creative environment she provided.
Pam took special joy in gardening, decorating her house for every holiday, creative art projects, providing many toys and joys for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, spending time at the beach or swimming pool (anywhere with water), family gatherings, spoiling her various pets throughout her lifetime, and had fond memories of being all together on family vacations.
Pam always treated everyone like they were family, especially Renee and Sydnee Vrtikapa and neighbor Jamie Turngren. Pam embraced them as her own after Renee and Jamie's Mothers passed away and she became a mother and grandmother to them.
She had a strong Christian faith. She was raised Catholic as a child, then began attending the Four Seasons United Methodist Church and became an active church member there. She loved participating in bible studies with the pastors.
Pam is survived by her husband, Mark, of 52 years, her brother, Greg (Joyce) Boynak, sister, Lisa (Donnie) Walls, her children, Andrea Vrtikapa (Rich), Rebecca Hutchins, Renee Vrtikapa, her grandchildren, Ashley Wilson (Connor), Maddie Vrtikapa, Jack Robbins and Sydnee Vrtikapa, and her great grandson, Cayden Wilson. Also, many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Mandarin United Methodist Church, 11270 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL on Saturday, December 28th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Foundation of America, Inc., The American Cancer Society or Mandarin United Methodist Church in Pamela's name.
