Don Howell, Jr. - Class Of 1981

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, MAY 5, 2005:

Donald J. Howell, Jr., age 42, of Maui, Hawaii, formerly of Hobart, passed away suddenly in New Orleans on Friday, April 29, 2005. He was a 1981 graduate of Hobart High School, where he lettered in wrestling and was an All-State football player. He received his BA degree from Cornell University, where he played football for two years, and his MBA degree from American University of International Graduate Studies, Thunderbird Campus, Glendale, AZ. Donny was an avid traveler, traveling around the world twice and visiting many islands as well. He never knew a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald J. Howell in 1999. He is survived by his mother, Rosalind Howell; sister, Marilyn (Doug) Schenkel; and loving nephews and niece: Patrick, Morgan and Josh, all of Fishers, IN.

A joyful celebration Mass will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, Hobart with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, May 13, 2005 from 3-8 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart. Cremation will precede the visitation. Donny was passionately involved in caring for a less fortunate child with Spina Bifida and the family requests that donations be made in her name, Ava Rose at Forum Credit Union, P.O. Box 50738, Indianapolis, IN 46250. Donations can be given through Burns Funeral Home or mailed directly to the credit union.
