Janice Marie Burke, 64, of North Vernon died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon. Mrs. Burke was a 1959 graduate of Hobart High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing.

The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Stephen Donahue officiating. Calling is from noon until time of the service. Burial will be Friday, April 29, at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery in Anderson. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society. Born June 20, 1940, in Gary, Mrs. Burke was the daughter of Orville and Dorothy Schroeder Williams. She married Thomas E. Burke on December 5, 1959, in Hobart.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Thomas M. Burke of Anderson; a daughter, Kelli M. Arnold of Anderson; a brother, Earl Williams of Portage; a sister, Barbara Clark of Aurora, Colo.; and grandchildren, Katrina and William Arnold of Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
