James Pavy - Class Of 1955

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JUNE 15, 2006:
 
JAMES D. PAVY Lake Station/Hobart Indiana Age 69, passed away after a brave battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 14, 2006. He was a lifelong resident of Lake Station and most recently of Hobart. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired employee of E.J. & E. Railroad with 39 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and making custom made fishing rods. He also enjoyed listening to country music and making country tapes for family and friends. Jim was also an avid baseball card collector.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Carmel Pavy; brothers, Sonny, Robert D., Dennis Keith (infant) Pavy, 2 sisters-in-law, Sandra J. Pavy and Linda Pavy, and brother-in-law, Mervyn W. Delmage. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Joann Pavy of Hobart; daughter, Deborah Ann (Dominick Marini) Pavy; son, James D. Pavy, Jr., both of Lake Station; 3 grandsons, Ray Hopper of New Chicago, Jimmy (Amanda Toth) Hopper of Lake Station, Mike Richter of Lake Station; 3 great grandchildren, Alorah and Amaylie Hopper, Jimmy "Baby James" Hopper; sisters, LaWanda (Don) Lightfoot of Lake Station, Joyce Delmage of Portage, Darlene Milar of Cicero, IL; brothers, Donald R. Pavy, Nick Pavy, Rick Pavy, all of Lake Station; favorite sister-in-law, Judy Pavy of Portage; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; his little dog "Inky" and his 2 fur kids, "Fritz" and "Dew".
 
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart IN, Rev. Gerald T. Walworth, officiating. Services will terminate at the funeral home with cremation following at the Burns Funeral Home Crematory. Friends may visit with the family at Burns Funeral Home (Hobart) on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
