Geodi Woods (McCauley) - Class Of 1992

OBITUARY FROM THE SOUTH  BEND TRIBUNE, OCTOBER 25, 2006:

Geodi Charletta McCauley (nee Woods), 33, of Granger, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 23, 2006, surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous struggle with multiple sclerosis.

Geodi was born August 19, 1973, to George F. and Gail A. (nee Zelenka) Woods. Geodi was a Hobart High School graduate, class of 1992. She was an employee for several years of Menards, working at Griffith, Merrillville and Valparaiso. Geodi married Gregory Donald McCauley September 23, 1995, in an outdoor ceremony at the Wood's family farm. Geodi and Gregg lived in Hobart, Las Vegas for several years before moving to Granger in 2005 when Geodi's health failed.

Geodi was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, always catching the most fish. She cared deeply for others and volunteered at the American Red Cross in Merrillville, IN, during the September 11, 2001, tragedy. She also volunteered for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of Las Vegas, NV.

GEODI CHARLETTA McCAULEY (nee WOODS) Granger, Indiana Age 33, passed away peacefully at home Monday, October 23, 2006, surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous struggle with multiple sclerosis. Geodi was born on August 19, 1973 to George F. and Gail A. (nee Zelenka) Woods. Geodi was a Hobart High School graduate, Class of 1992. She was an employee for several years of Menards, working at Griffith, Merrillville and Valparaiso. Geodi married Gregory Donald McCauley September 23, 1995, in an outdoor ceremony at the Woods' family farm. Geodi and Gregg lived in Hobart, and Las Vegas for several years before moving to Granger in 2005 when Geodi's health failed. Survivors include her devoted husband, Gregory; 1 son, Evan Gregory of Granger, IN; parents, Gail and George Woods; grandparents, Shirley (Robert) Thompson, Jerry (Marge) Zelenka, all of Hobart and Joseph (Jackaline) Gursky of Portage; 1 brother, Geoffrey (Vikki Stevenson) Woods, of Hobart; 2 aunts, Karen Goad, of Hobart and Jean Woods of Tampa, FL; 1 uncle, Jody Woods, of Queens Creek, AZ; and her parents-in-law, Donald and Sandra (Adelsperger) McCauley; sisters-in-law, Susan (Doug) Craig and Becky (Matt) Bartlett, all of Granger, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be sent in Geodi's name to Hospice of St. Joseph County. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 from 2-9 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from Rees Funeral Home, with Rev. Duane Schmidt officiating. Cremation to follow at Calvary Crematory.
