OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, FEBRUARY 22, 2005:
Evelyn L. Roberts, age 65 of South Haven, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2005 at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago. Evelyn was a lifelong area resident and a member of Bible Baptist Church in South Haven. She was a Ladies Auxiliary member of South Haven American Legion Post #502.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Charley Roberts; son, Forrest Illes of Portage; daughters: Cynthia (Larry) Boger of Hobart, Sondra Illes (Fred Wardell) of Valparaiso and Tracy (Mike) Kmak of Oaklawn, IL; stepchildren: Sue and Ron Baumgardner, Tracey Roberts and Chuck Wilson all of Elkhart, IN; four grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; sisters: Helen Catchur of Merrillville, Patricia (Alfred) Klinger of Florida and Wallie (Jack) Overturf of Hobart; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Marie Ahlgrim; daughter, Amber Illes and sister, Susan Callahan.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 8:30 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Rev.Don Good officiating. Cremation will follow the service at Calvary Crematory in Portage. Visitation is also Wednesday from 2:00-8:30 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
