M. Les (Leslie) Clark - Class Of 1940

OBITUARY FROM AKRON (OHIO) BEACON-JOURNAL, NOVEMBER 8, 2010:

M. Leslie (Les) Clark, was 88 years old, when he passed away November 6, 2010.

He was born May 13, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois to Carl and Evelyn Clark and graduated from Hobart High School in Hobart, Indiana. In 1947 Les graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio with a degree in Civil Engineering and was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He and his wife, Carlene, moved to Akron in 1948 where he worked for Ohio Edison until his retirement in 1978. After retirement he enjoyed traveling, woodworking, gardening, photography, his home and family. He was an active member of North Springfield Presbyterian Church for over 60 years and served the church in many capacities.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and one brother. Les is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carlene; his daughters, Joan (Denny) Werstler of Canton, and Margaret (Steve) Dale of Buffalo, NY; sister, Ethel Berry of Bradenton, Fla. and brother, David of Portage, Ind.

Private graveside services and burial will be held at White Church Cemetery in Kingston, Ohio. Memorial services will be held Wednesday 1 p.m. at North Springfield Presbyterian Church, 671 Canton Road, Akron, with Reverend Janet C. Lowery officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to his church. (Hopkins Lawver, Akron, 330-733-6271).
