OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, DECEMBER 28, 2010:

Wellman, Grace R. Age 87, of Hobart, IN passed away on Monday, December 27, 2010. She was a graduate of Hobart High School and was retired from the Accounting Department at U.S. Steel. Grace was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Station. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John & William Wellman and sisters, Morva Pittman and Gertrude Cleek.

Grace is survived by 2 brothers, Roy Wellman of MN and George Wellman of Ft. Myers, FL; and 2 sisters, Helen Danko of Chicago, IL and Mary (Bob) Grindereng of Phoenix, AZ and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with the family at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart, IN on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home, going to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2447 Putnam St. Lake Station, IN for a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Eduardo Malagon officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN. Prayer service will be held on Weds at 4:00 p.m. www.burnsfuneral.com
