Gene Bailey - Class Of 2005

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JANUARY 26, 2010:

Gene Michael Bailey, age 23, a long time resident of Hobart passed on Saturday, January 23, 2010. He was born on September 27, 1986 in Merrillville. Gene attended Hobart High School and was an auto tech student at Ivy Tech in East Chicago. He loved music and playing his drums. He was a voracious reader interested in many diverse areas of knowledge. His gentle nature drew people to him and Gene made friends with all varieties of personalities. He was brilliant and kind and the best son, brother, and uncle ever. He was a terrible procrastinator, but not about the important things.

Gene is survived by his loving family, his mother, Lori Caldwell, Hobart; brother, Robert Bailey, Hobart; his niece, Falen Bailey; and his nephew, Asa Bailey both of whom he adored dearly, and other loving family and dear friends. Gene was preceded in death by his father, John Bailey; his grandparents, Norma and John Bailey; and grandparents, Bob and Virginia Caldwell.

A memorial visitation for Gene Bailey will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January, 27, 2010 at Rees Funeral Home – Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A memorial funeral service for Gene Bailey will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Rees Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Brewin officiating. Cremation will follow.
