ASHTON, WILLIAM DAVID ASHTON, JR. "Bill"

Of Reston, VA, on Tuesday, January 23, 2007. Bill was the beloved husband of Arlene Grace Ashton; father of Chip (Peggy) and Mark Ashton; brother of Sally Schakel and grandfather of David, Patrick, Kristopher, Jake, Brock, Josiah, Alexandra, Annie and Melissa. He is also survived by two nieces, Peggy Whitwell and Susan Marable.

Bill was born on December 22, 1927 in Michigan City, IN. He spent most of his childhood in Gary, IN and graduated from Hobart High School. He served his country in both World War II and the Korean War. He graduated from Indiana University and went on to establish the Ashton Insurance Agency. He had lived and worked in Reston since 1972. Bill was an avid golfer and fisherman, however his favorite hobby was spending time with his grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church, 1545 Dranesville Rd., Herndon, VA 20170, where services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday. Inurnment at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium. Memorial donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church Youth Group. Arrangements by ADAMS-GREEN.
