OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, NOVEMBER 23, 2004:

DOROTHY M. ELLENBERGER Age 80, of Hobart, passed away Monday, November 22, 2004. Dorothy had been a longtime resident of Hobart, a 1943 Hobart High School graduate, and a retired employee of Midwest Products of Hobart. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Hobart and a former member of the Women's Circle. Dorothy was a member of the American Legion Post #54 Auxiliary and VFW Post #5365 Auxiliary; she was also a member of 2 pinochle clubs and AARP.

Survivors: husband of 59 years, Herbert; 4 sons, William (Janet) Ellenberger of Lake Station, Robert (Laura) Ellenberger of Hobart, John (Rhonda) Ellenberger of Mentone, IN and Jim Ellenberger of Hobart; 2 daughters, Rachel (William) Nicoloff of Hobart and Becky Kopper of Portage, IN; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Betty (Oliver) Mitchell of Portage. Preceded in death by parents, Martin and Gladys Harner and brother, Martin Harner, Jr.

Funeral service Friday, November 26, 2004, 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Pastor John Promisson officiating. Burial at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. Visitation Wednesday, 2-9 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
